What Does Green Mean to You

Some homeowners choose to focus on their home's reduction of energy consumption or water usage. Others are passionate about using recycled materials and preserving our natural resources. At Keystone Homes, we are able to make your new house as "green" as you would like.

Fully Certified for Green Building

There are many green certifications a builder can aim for when designing a home. Energy Star, LEED, FGBC and Build Smart are some of the most popular certifications available here in Florida.

Energy Star certifications focus on energy management plans and designs with the goal of helping the environment and lowering your utility bills. Other certifications take a broader approach. LEED has a "triple bottom line" ethos, considering "people, planet and profit."

LEED quantifies the performance of a building in the following areas:
  • Energy and atmosphere
  • Indoor environmental quality
  • Innovation in design and operations
  • Materials and resources
  • Site sustainability
  • Water efficiency
We can design a home to meet any criteria, but you may want to keep in mind the fees associated with each certification as well as any added building costs necessary to meet these certification requirements.

Our Standard Features

Our default standard is to exceed the Energy Star requirements, conserve water, provide you with better indoor air quality and reduce your overall long-term maintenance. This is why we provide you with the following features as a standard:
